The story of this house begins with a group of friends and partners meeting their vision and winemaking style for Franciacorta in 1701. Today, brothers Federico and Silvia Stefini are in charge of the house, they work together to develop the company and move forward with new challenges. They work and practice the principles of Organic and Biodynamic viticulture in their 10 ha vineyards.
ChardonnayAll products from this varietal
Fresh chardonnay shows bright fruity profile and strong body. Chardonnay wines usually have expressed aromatic complexity and usually it happens due to winemaking techniques (particularly the use of oak promote notes of vanilla, smoke and hints of spices) rather than the variety's intrinsic qualities. Also, this variety can develop cream, yeast and brioche bread notes. Because of this high level of winemaker influence, Chardonnay has become famous as the "winemaker's wine".
This is the so called "water" region for it is surrounded by rivers and lakes. Vines are grown in the mountains. Winters are cold and foggy, but the long autumn helps the late Nebbiolo grapes to ripen. The region produces two DOCG wines - Franciacorta and Valtellina Superiore - and more than 10 DOC wines.
